Storyline
Kim worked extensively in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as both Detective Constable and Detective Sergeant. His experience spans specialist units including the Drug Squad and the Regional Crime Squad (now National Crime Agency), where he conducted high-level surveillance. As a Detective Inspector, he led both Special Branch and the Economic Crime Unit, overseeing complex cases involving fraud, money laundering, cybercrime, and online child exploitation.
His career highlights include work on two serial killer investigations, several kidnappings and extortion cases, and the UK’s only recorded postal IED murder case — all leading to convictions. After retiring, Kim was retained to investigate a $350 million Ponzi scheme, working with international agencies in the Bahamas, USA, Japan, Canada, and New Zealand.
Following his time as Corporate Security Manager for a global travel company, Kim is now fulfilling a lifelong goal: writing powerful, authentic crime books — both fiction and nonfiction.
He currently resides in the historic city of Lincoln.
